There were two main obstacles to hurdle in this project, it had to sound great and had to appear stock! Lucky for this client, that is our specialty!
We chose to integrate with the factory radio using an Audio Control LC6i and an Arc Audio IDX active crossover. This allowed us to run each channel of the Arc Audio KS125.4mini amplifier dedicated to each front speaker, giving us better sound and much more control. The front speakers were Hertz Hi-Energy XL component speakers, mounted in the factory locations. An Arc Audio KS500.1mini supplied the two Ultra LV-6 subwoofers with 500 watts of power for nice, tight bass. The subwoofer enclosure itself was made to appear as though it came with the vehicle, keeping with the second of the two requirements. Second Skin Damplifier pro was applied to the inner and outer door skins, the door panels and the floor of the truck to silence the noise caused by thin sheet metal. An iPod integration device from PAC was used to allow iPod playback through the sound system.

Is that stock JBL-amp still in the system? or was it removed completely?
Is it possible to replace the JBL-amp while leaving the rest of the system alone?
Handcrafted says
Yes the JBL amplifier is still connected so that it can run the rear and center speakers. It is absolutely possible to replace the amplifier and leave the factory speakers there. Give us a call and we can talk about it!
