This vehicle was meant to be a daily driver, that could also hold it’s own at a car show. Maintaining functionality and appearance were two major design requirements.
We used an Arc Audio SRI and an IDX to integrate the audio with the factory radio. 3 JL amplifiers powered the system. 2 amps for the 2 JL 8W-7 subwoofers and one amp to run the Ultra speakers up front. The front speakers and tweeters required special mounting plates to be made in order to secure them using factory bolts. The amps were mounted in a wedge-shaped enclosure, which remained separate from the two subwoofer enclosures so that access to the spare tire was maintained. One subwoofer enclosure was molded into each side of the rear cargo area, leaving the center of the cargo area open for storage. Second Skin Damplifier Pro lined every inch of this vehicle from the doors to the floors.

I own a EX35 and you appear to be the only one that has modified this vehicule. Did you tap into the speaker wires before or after the Amp? Do you happen to have a wiring diagram?
Handcrafted says
The factory amplifier had to stay in place so that other speakers and functions could continue to operate as normal, so we got our signal after the amplifier. I’m sorry, but I do not have any diagram that I can supply you with. We can, however, do the installation for you!

Hi, Excellent work. i also own a EX35 and am planning to build a small system. What would be of great help , is a copy of the wiring diagram at the amp. Can you assist?
Many Thanks,
Rupert

I just realized that you responded. My Bad. I live in Canada. So having having you build the system is unlikely. I assumed that you got your signals post OEM Amp. Having the wiring the diagram would save me the time to validate each channel. NP. I’ll do it the old school way.

Rupert

Hi Again,
Did you tap in the speaker wire after the amp or before?
Thanks,
Rupert

Component car speaker certainly is the best. I’ve got one set up in my car.

We think so too Simon! Allowing the speakers to do only what they do best, while filtering out what they are not so good at, makes for a great sound system!
