Here at Handcrafted Car Audio, we are known to be a very different kind of retailer. Our clients will often tell us at the end of a buying experience about how different we were to deal with, and that working with us was a breath of fresh air. We wondered, what if a potential client could experience some of that in advance, sort of like a virtual tour of the Handcrafted experience? So we present to you, our potential clients:
The Handcrafted Experience
Initial contact
When clients walk into our store, they are going to be greeted by enthusiastic employees who are glad to have them here. We will shake hands and introduce ourselves, and then ask what brought them into our store that day. The team member who greets a potential new client will listen intently as the conversation progresses and, at some point, will ask if we can look at the vehicle together. We will spend significant time on going over the vehicle together, including sitting in it to listen to the current audio system. We will ask what they like about it, and what needs improvement. We will even ask if they have had audio work done in the past, and how they like it.
In-store consultation
Now we will come back inside and introduce the client to the Handcrafted way of doing things. We start by showing all of our awards, including Installer of the Year in 2010, Retailer of the Year in 2013 and Best Customer Retention Award in 2015. Then we move on to our certifications, and all that we have accomplished over the past eight years.
Tour of the facility
Next, we offer to give the client a tour of our state-of-the-art facility, presenting everything from the only air-conditioned install bay at any independent shop in Arizona to our fabrication rooms. As we walk through the bays, we will show our current work and explain how we go to extreme lengths to protect the paint and interior of every vehicle we work on from damage. When we pass the wood shop, we point out our industrial-grade dust collection system that keeps clients’ vehicles from getting dust on them while in our care.
Discussion of solutions
At this point, we offer the client a bottle of water, and walk back out to the showroom, where we will give live demos of the products we are suggesting for the vehicle. Our team member will walk the client through the benefits of every product we are suggesting. Once the client approves our proposal, we get a deposit on the job and schedule an installation appointment.
Work performed on the vehicle
On the day we take possession of a vehicle, the technician will get the keys, a protective seat cover and a detailed check-in form with detailed information about the client and the work to be performed. The technician will look over the vehicle in detail, noting any abnormalities with a special iPhone app. During the installation, we store all removed panels in racks for their protection, and all hardware in specific bins for retrieval later.
Once the work is completed and the technician is totally satisfied with the performance of the new equipment, we carry out a detailed check-out procedure.
Delivery to client
When the client comes back to pick up the vehicle, we greet them with a smile, and then we take them out to demo the new equipment. Our team member will go over all functions of the new equipment until the client is comfortable with the operation of everything. We explain that we are here for them as long as they own this vehicle for follow-up questions on operation or technical issues. We let them know that we will be there in the rare occurrence of an equipment failure, and will work to build their trust for a lifetime. Only when we feel they are pleased will we take them back inside, finish the paperwork and send them on their way.
