Mercedes Benz S550 gets a remote car starter and mobile video!

For a long time, adding the convenience of remote car starting to MB vehicles was not possible due to their complex wiring systems. However Compustar, our security and remote start brand of choice, stepped up to the plate and now offers a full line of systems that cover many MB vehicles and is a 100% plug and play installation in most cases! These systems are designed to use the factory keyfob to remote start the vehicle but are also compatible with Compustar extended range remotes and even their Drone system, so you can lock, unlock and remote start your Benz from your smart phone!

In this vehicle, we installed the remote car starter with the 1 mile range LCD transmitter upgrade. This way, the owner can start the vehicle from the factory keyfob or from a much greater distance if necessary.  We also added some video entertainment by way of a set of Rosen headrest monitors that actually keep the active headrest restraint system in tact and allow rear seat passengers to play two separate DVD’s, built in video game system or use the external input for an ipod or other devices.  One of the coolest things we did to this car though was the addition of a video integration device that allows the driver to view an external video source on the factory screen in the dash, simply by pressing a button on the steering wheel!  This mean that he can put a DVD in the headrest monitor and watch it on both rear headrest monitors and the screen in the dash as well.  This same device also allows input of a back up camera image and automatically switches to it when the vehicle is put in reverse.

This little box is all you need to add remote starter convenience to your Mercedes Benz.

The unit is 100% plug and play, so the factory wiring is kept in tact.

The Compustar wiring plugs directly into the Mercedes ignition cylinder.

The headrest monitor mounts to the headrest frame, maintaining the factory Active Headrests.

By simply double-clicking the Mute button on the steering wheel, we have enabled the DVD to be seen on the screen.

We also added a back up camera which comes on automatically when the vehicle is put into reverse.
