During my trip to the 2011 Knowledgefest event this past weekend in Dallas Texas, I got to see the new version of one of my favorite products, the Compustar Drone. We install alot of these units at Handcrafted Car Audio because they are just so cool. They allow you to arm, disarm, start and track your vehicle from your cell phone and will force an alert to your phone should your vehicle get broken into. The one thing that we don’t like about it, it’s size, has now been drastically improved in V2!
Drone 2 is probably about 1/3 the size of the original Drone, giving much more flexibility to it’s installation. It also features external antenna ports for vehicles with privacy glass that would interfere with reliable operation and the ability to hook directly up to an Idatalink vehicle control module, negating the need for an alarm brain to act as host. This means that you can now arm and disarm your factory alarm, start your vehicle and still get theft alerts at a lower price than before! Look for the Drone 2 in our facility in October.
This is going to be one insane product for the holiday season here in the Northeast! I can’t wait to get my hands on one to “experiment” with!
