Rockin the boat, for charity!

This boat was brought to us to install a custom sound system in it so that it could be used to provide entertainment during charity events at our local lakes.  We love doing things to support good causes, so we were happy to take this one on.

The system consisted of a full Exile Audio package containing 4 wake tower speaker pods which housed 8″ mid bass/midrange speakers, six in cabin coaxial speakers, a subwoofer, 3 amplifiers and a zone controller so you could choose which speakers were playing and even employ a little EQ work.  Being our first time working with Exile Audio, we were unfamiliar with their product, but were very pleased with the extra thought that was put into their systems.  One example is the quick release attachment method they use for the wake tower pods.  This allows you to simply loosen a thumbscrew and remove the pod without having to disconnect any wiring!  Plus, they give you nice little bags to carry the pods in that even come with handles, kinda like a bowling ball bag.

Reports back from the first event at Saguaro lake a few weeks ago are that this boat was one of the loudest on the lake and all the kids were crowding around it.  I just wish we could’ve been there to see it!

Update: Once again, we had this boat in our care for the addition of an LED accent lighting system for the cabin of the boat. When this boat is not helping out charities, it is partying it up on the water, Now, with our lighting system, everybody will know where the party is!

Here is the other part of the quick release mounting system on the speaker pod itself. It uses a standard phono jack to make the connection to the speaker wires inside the mount.
