If you own a Toyota Tundra and love your truck, but think the audio system needs help, you are not alone. At Handcrafted Car Audio in Chandler, our staff work on a lot of Tundra audio systems. In fact, this is the vehicle we work on the most often when it comes to sound quality upgrades. Here’s why.
Great Truck, Not So Great Factory Audio
When Toyota designed your truck, they built it to be different. They knew unseating the F150 as the most popular vehicle wasn’t going to happen, so they built a vehicle for truck enthusiasts. They learned how to do this from decades of building their smaller Tacoma truck and seeing how popular it was for upgrades. Unfortunately, where Toyota stopped short was in the audio department. Now, don’t get us wrong – we like the in-dash stereo systems that come in the newer models. But the audio quality is lousy. The music seems weak and anemic, almost lifeless. Should you ever try and crank it up, things only go downhill from there.
Amazing Audio Upgrade Packages
But wait. There is good news. Your Tundra can sound amazing. Our team has developed audio upgrade packages that have proven so popular that we do them for our local Toyota dealer. Here are our thought processes on upgrading the stereo system.
Biggest Need, More Bass
Add some bass. The single biggest thing lacking in your truck is bass. Every time a kick drum or bass guitar note is played on your stereo system, you get basically nothing, zip, nada. The good news is Handcrafted can build you a custom enclosure to go underneath or behind your rear seat to hold subwoofers that will bring your sound system to life. You get to keep all the integrity of your vehicle intact while making your music fun again.
Wimpy Speakers Have To Go
Upgrade those cheap, wimpy, paper-coned speakers. If there is one area where Toyota really saves money, it is in the speakers. The factory speakers represent the absolute minimum requirements in build-quality for a speaker to produce sound. Adding a set of high-quality speakers from Handcrafted Car Audio will instantly give you much more detail in your music. You will experience cymbals that actually “crash”, vocals that have the crispness of a live event, and drum beats that will have you feeling like you are sitting right next to the drummer.
Power And Processing
Integrate a sound processor and more power. One of the ways Toyota tries to get those inexpensive paper speakers to sound better is by adding equalization to the music. It is a feeble attempt at best. When you upgrade your speakers, you want this equalization removed. Our processors can “strip” the music of this equalization. This also allows us to sum all the musical signals back together if needed. It also gives us control over every speaker in the vehicle, allowing for digital delay, crossover and equalization settings to maximize the sound quality.
Once the sound is fixed, we add more power in the form of an amplifier. That is what gives you the capability to crank up your music without distortion for that live-concert experience in your truck.
Increase The Driving Enjoyment With Tundra Audio Upgrades
You will now be looking for excuses to run errands in your Tundra. The stereo system will bring you hours of enjoyment, making all those miles traveled seem to melt away.
