In place of an existing Kicker wireless 3 1⁄2″ speaker system, we installed a new Rockford Fosgate T400X4AD in the left saddlebag of this Moto Guzzi California, running Rockford T152 coaxial speakers in the bag lids and P152 coaxial speakers in the front. We custom-built the front pods with fiberglass to sit in the bottom part of the windshield. They secure to the windshield frame with stainless hardware. As an added cosmetic touch, and so you cannot see the backs of the fiberglass pods, we wrapped the outside of the windshield in gloss-black vinyl.
We made the rear pods with plastic and fiberglass composites, conforming to the contoured shape of the bag lids. This gave us a flat place for mounting the speakers. For the audio source connection, we used a Wet Sounds Bluetooth controller mounted into the client’s so he can simply reach down with his left hand while riding and adjust the volume, track, pause and play functions.
For the rear passenger, we installed a dual USB charging system to keep devices charged up and ready to use.
